If this is true, it would be wonderful news Alhamdulilah.

However, it may be prudent for him to seek treatment elsewhere; With a Hindu-extremist government in place that hates Muslims, it would not be a safe haven by any means.

In 2016, the Sheikh had been declared innocent and his detention illegal. Yet he isn't free. There is no guarantee that they will actually free him this time too.

Infact, this is an opportunity to form a permanent team for this kind of movement. Now that the enemy is feeling a pinch and is cornered at least for some of the important issues, they will continue to create more and more issues similar to this. If the Mo'meneen side is not prepared, they will have to do the ground work every time such an issue comes up.

*URGENT: PROTESTS MUST CONTINUE UNTIL NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT COMPLY WITH COURT ORDER*

On Monday 5 August, a judge at the regional Kaduna High Court ordered that Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife be sent to India for urgent medical treatment. The judge said that Sheikh Zakzaky could lose his life at any moment and cannot receive adequate care in Nigeria.

This is a hard earned victory and a glimmer of hope that the Sheikh’s life can be saved.

It wouldn’t have been achieved without every person around the world that has taken part in the #FreeZakzaky campaign.

But the Sheikh’s life is far from guaranteed. He needs you now more than ever.

The Nigerian government has repeatedly ignored court rulings. In 2016, the highest court in Nigeria, the Federal High Court in Abuja, ordered Sheikh Zakzaky’s release and the government has ignored the ruling.

Today, the court hadn’t even finished discussing the conditions of Sheikh Zakzaky’s travel for treatment, when government officials indicated they may prolong his release.

They refused to answer media questions about when the Sheikh will be sent to India and indicated that they may max out the one-month deadline to appeal today's ruling.

That is a month Sheikh Zakzaky might not have. The court made clear today that the Sheikh could lose his life at any time. The government could still try and delay his treatment until it is too late.

Protest and pressure must continue until he is in hospital receiving this care.

The Nigerian government want the issue to die down so that they can continue to let Sheikh Zakzaky die.

We cannot let that happen.

A court ruling will not save Sheikh Zakzaky’s life. He needs to be in a hospital now. We demand that the Nigerian government facilitate his immediate travel and medical care for life-saving treatment.

The protest outside the Nigerian High Commission in London continues until news of Shaykh Zakzaky’s release for treatment is confirmed.

We will not abandon our position outside the Nigerian High Commission until we are satisfied that the court decision will be honoured.

*IMPORTANT* There are false reports circulating on social media claiming that Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife have been given their passports and have been transported to New Delhi for medical treatment.

*This is absolutely not true.*

At present, the Nigerian Government has *not* complied with the court order; and therefore Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife remain in detention. This is why our protests are continuing globally.

Wherever you are in the world, *please continue mounting pressure on Nigerian authorities* - be it through organising protests, contacting the foreign office, or writing to the Nigerian Embassy in your country.

Hiermit möchten wir am Samstag den 17.08.2019 zu einer Kundgebung für Scheikh Zakzaky in Köln aufrufen. Denn, zwar hat das zuständige Gericht in Nigeria entschieden, dass Scheikh Zakzaky gemeinsam mit seiner Ehefrau zu medizinischen Zwecken aus Nigeria ausreisen darf, hat aber die nigerianische Regierung das Gerichtsurteil noch nicht umsetzen lassen und spielt auf Zeit. Gleichzeitig hat Scheikh Zakzaky einen Zustand, bei dem es um jede einzelne Minute geht, so dass auch nur die geringste Verzögerung seinen Tod wahrscheinlicher werden lässt.

Wir rufen die Geschwister dazu auf, zahlreich zu erscheinen und in dieser Sache nicht nachlässig zu sein. Zur Kurzinfo, um wen es sich bei Scheikh Zakzaky handelt:

- Scheikh Zakzaky ist der Anführer der IMN und hat in Nigeria 15-20 Millionen Anhänger.
- Am 12. Dezember 2015 griff die nigerianische Armee ihn und seine Anhänger an. Das Ergebnis dieses Angriffs, der 2 Tage andauerte, und als Zaria Massaker in die Geschichte einging, sind etwa 1000 Tote ...der Scheikh und seine Frau sind seitdem Geiseln des nigerianischen Regimes.
- Die nigerianische Armee hat innerhalb von 2 Jahren 6 von 7 Söhnen des Scheikhs getötet. Seine Schwester starb... bei lebendigen Leib verbrannt.
- Der Scheikh selbst hat ein Auge und die Funktionstüchtigkeit seines Armes verloren. In seinem Kopf stecken mehrere Kugeln, weswegen er zudem nicht mehr gehen kann. Ferner wurde er vor einigen Wochen vergiftet, weswegen er sich dem Tode nähert, sollte er bald keine adäquate medizinische Versorgung erhalten.

Dies alles ist Grund dazu, an dieser Kundgebung teilzunehmen. Nochmal: Die Geschwister dürfen und sollten in dieser Sache nicht nachlässig sein. Gleichzeitig rufen wir dazu auf, so viele Geschwister wie möglich auf diese Kundgebung Aufmerksam zu machen.

Wir werden uns um 12 Uhr vor Beginn der Kundgebung in den Räumlichkeiten der Gemeinschaft der Mitte e.V. (Olpenerstr. 33, 51109 Köln) versammeln, dort das Gebet verrichten und gemeinsam zur Kundgebung fahren. Wer also möchte, kann entweder direkt zur Domplatte fahren oder zunächst einmal von der genannten Möglichkeit Gebrauch nehmen.
